Kwok, OD
Chief, Cornea and Contact Lens Service
Assistant Professor of Optometry, New England College of Optometry
Dr. Kwok was raised in Canada and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree at the
University of Toronto, before completing his Doctorate of Optometry, at the
University of Waterloo. He spent five years in private practice in
Canada, and then chose to relocate to Boston to join New England Eye
Institute’s Fenway Practice. Dr. Kwok currently serves as the Chief of
the Cornea and Contact Lens Service at New England Eye's Fenway Practice.
Dr. Kwok’s has vast experience in many disciplines of eye care, including the
fitting of contact lens, refractive surgery and the treatment of
glaucoma. What is more, his expertise and caring character have taken him
to far-off places, such as Pakistan, where he volunteered two months of his
time. Dr. Kwok summarized his experience in Pakistan by saying, “the one
thing that struck me the most was how very appreciative they were of the
treatment they received, not ever having had the privilege of good quality
health care before.” Moreover, Dr. Kwok served as an educator and trained
other clinicians on refractive techniques at the Taxila Christian Hospital.
Dr.
Kwok also an Assistant Professor of Optometry at the New England College of
Optometry and coordinates the Contact Lens Lab in addition to running the
Contact Lens Service at Boston Medical Center.
During his spare time, Dr. Kwok spends a lot of time with his wife and is
involved in various church activities. He enjoys poker, golf, tennis, and
strums on the guitar. He has also worked as a Red Cross swimming
instructor, is certified in First Aid, speaks Cantonese and has a black belt in
Ving Tsun Kung Fu.
